Amino acid nutrition and reproduction

The ideal reproduction in high-performance herd is considered as follows: the service period — up to 85 days, conception rate after the first artificial insemination — more than 50%, conception rate — less than 1.7, and the duration of calving interval — not less than 390 days. Achieving these objectives is quite difficult due to a number of different factors. One of the conditions of survival of embryos and successful course of pregnancy is considered in the content of amino acids in the diet of dairy cows. About the results of various studies of this issue during the Eastern European Dairy Congress told the doctor of veterinary medicine, lecturer at the University of Illinois Phil Cardoso.

Our tomorrow we build today

During Agroinvesforum, about which we have already mentioned in the journal materials, I asked Vadim Andrushchak, director of «Potinger Ukraine», about investment sentiment which now prevails in the market. Planned for a few minutes short interview quietly grown into a large and deep conversation, by which I was very impressed. I hope that the reader will not remain indifferent.

The quality of roughage and money

Each product goes through certain stages of the life cycle. First, its development involveы enthusiasts. When the product begins to make a profit, they want to do everything.

Be the first is the risk, challenge and responsibility

Independent Ukraine has set its sights on the industrial production of milk at the beginning of 2000. The starting point for many was a model farm and dairy holding school «Agro-Soyuz». Over time, new technologies have begun to take root in other Ukrainian farms. While some step by step moved forward, others argued, thought if to build or reconstruct, new farm — Ukrainian Milk Company (UMC) — quickly rushed in the history.

Employees are our most important asset

In each issue, we talk about the best international practices. This time, we share an experience of independent consultant from the United States Lindell Whitelock on example of a dairy farm Larson Acres. For many years, he accompanied the project and is convinced that the effectiveness of the farm is based on two things — the right personnel policies and successful reproduction. These issues will be covered in two materials, but first — PERSONNEL.

Prepartum and postpartum nutritional management for optimal fertility in high-yielding dairy cows

What should be done to minimize health problems now and in the future to get the maximum production, and good reproductive performance, on the Eastern European Dairy Congress told Phil Cardos, the doctor of veterinary medicine, lecturer at the University of Illinois.

The calf on the bedding — the milk in the tank

Denis Sergienko, Counseling Center ADM

You can only manage what you can measure.

Peter Drucker Ferdinant

My own history with a comparative economic analysis of milk production began in 2013, when I worked as the head of an agricultural enterprise. It was interesting to compare our farm with the other, which may work more effectively. And it was not just the operating parameters (eg, milk yield), but also the cost of production, the level of conversion costs for feeding in revenue from the milk and others.
