The Role of Protected Fats in Dairy Cows' Ration

High-producing dairy cows are rather capricious to nutritive feeding, in particular they need to get required energy. Energy supply is of great importance at the end of dry period and in early lactation. First months after calving will determine the profitability of production. In most cases providing cows with energy by means of rations isn’t enough. It influences not only lactation performance, but also worsens dairy cattle reproductive performance. The latter means irregular estrous cycles, low fertility, longer service periods etc. As a result, the first task is to create such housing conditions on a dairy farm, so that high-yielding cows could fully realize their genotype potential without losing their health.
