Profitability of milk production is closely related to intensive usage of cattle. Is longevity associated in our minds with the intensity? Probably not, but try to overcome the chasm formed between this two definitions is worth it. 70-80% of culled animals is premature and causes great losses. Productive longevity of our nursing depends on many factors, so one-sided approach to the problem will not work. Incidentally, it is not always the solution requires fundamental changes in the economy or a significant investment. Compliance with simple postulates related conditions and animal health may well have a positive impact on the longevity of use productive dairy cows. At an international conference held in May in St. Petersburg, Charlotte Hallen-Sandhren, director of research in dairy production company «DeLaval», shared her European view on the problem.
