Farm without stereotypes
In 2017, the average annual milk yield in LLC Veleten in Sumy region reached 11300 kg of milk per milk cow. To this result, the farm went gradually, honing the technology. It was possible to get acquainted with them during the National Farm Day - on August 28 the dairy complex opened the doors for everyone.
From fixed to loose housing
LLC Veleten was created in 1999 on the basis of the former collective farm. The company began its work with 2,183 heads of a common herd of cattle and 1,100 dairy cows. The annual milk yield per cow was then 2 thousand kg. There was not enough money in the farm, so at first they thought of abandoning animal husbandry. But later things went better, and after three or four years, 4 thousand kg of milk was milked per cow, and then 5 thousand.
