Automation is Being on Trend

The world’s population is growing from year to year along with food requirements. Thus dairy industry is constantly developing. Of course, only effective milk production brings profit . If to analyze major stages of efficiency evolution, mechanization may be said to be the first among them. Thereat machines replaced labor-intensive processes at work. Automation was the next step: smart devices began to perform certain operations instead of humans. In the modern period the automated systems do not simply perform programmed functions, but suggest a person what and when to do.

Newcomers have the hardest time in this situation, no matter what noble the intentions they have. The only thing that can help them is convincing facts and satisfied customers. Moreover goat milk is more nutritious than cow milk. We asked Emiel van Haaren, a worldwide famous expert in goat and sheep breeding, how to make healthy products accessible to the Ukrainians and what rules we should follow if we want to start this business. He has accomplished many successful projects in different countries. The greatest was realized in Saudi Arabia — a farm with 15 000 goats.

Stepan Ivakhiv is a co-founder of financial-industrial group «Continuum», which is a leading player in the dairy market of Ukraine. In the «Continuum» Stepan was responsible for the milk line and now walked away from business management, as became the Member of Parliament of Ukraine. In the Parliament Ivakhiv is a Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations. His experience in the dairy business he uses in lawmaking.

At the Ukrainian farms we can quite often seen underfilled cattle production capacity and small technological groups. Due to the lack of quality repair stock, low production cows are kept in herds for too long.

How cow Laska entered the market

Last year the farm «named after Shevchenko» in Uhryniv village Horokhiv district, Volyn region, opened their own processing facility and locked milk production cycle from farm to fork. Now the products under the brand name «UhrynivMoloko» gradually take their place in the local market.

Old is the truth that milk is at the cows’ tongue. Of course, to have high productive cow, it must be timely and high-quality fed. However, as it turned out, just to put feed on the fodder place is not enough — you need to establish a mechanism of feeding. It is so sensitive that even a small oversight can crash the entire system.
