To reduce the cost of production of roughage experts advise farmers to grow grass (cereal or legumes) as close as possible to the place of silage pit. And what to do when the fields under fodder crops for various reasons, are at a distance of 10 or 20 kilometers? However, under these conditions, it is possible to prepare silage with minimal cost.

At present, there are three most common silage (grass silage) technologies, including the selection and grinding of green mass by:

• loading wagon;

• Harvester;

• Pick-up with packaging tape rolls.
