Independent Ukraine has set its sights on the industrial production of milk at the beginning of 2000. The starting point for many was a model farm and dairy holding school «Agro-Soyuz». Over time, new technologies have begun to take root in other Ukrainian farms. While some step by step moved forward, others argued, thought if to build or reconstruct, new farm — Ukrainian Milk Company (UMC) — quickly rushed in the history. Starting from scratch in 2006, in 2010 it already became the most dairy farm in Ukraine and Europe: a general population — 6.5 thousand heads, including 3580 dairy cows, two milking parlors «parallel» 2×36, daily milk production — 90 tons , the annual milk yield per cow more than 9000 kg. It was a sample of the successful transfer and adaptation of the American model of industrial farms in the Ukrainian realities. Ukrainian Milk Company even today is one of the leaders and innovators.
