Balancing the diet of cows during the transition period: anionic salts and protected fats
A highly-producing cow undergoes significant metabolic changes in the transit period. In particular, there is resorption of calcium from bone stocks and energy from fat depots. These processes should take place in a timely manner so that the cow can consume enough feed and provide the body with nutrients for maximum milk yield at the beginning of lactation. In the event of a malfunction in the "setup" there is a risk of developing diseases in the transit period.
