Cattle breeding is complex and specific job. First of all, because it combines the three cornerstones: people, animals and equipment. But there is another feature. It is multifactorial business, consisting of a considerable number of variables. Can we do the work of dairy farm, a complex and multifactoral production, transparent and manageable? About this is our conversation with Ivan Perov, manager of farm management systems company «DeLaval» (Russia).

— Is it real to transform the work on a farm into a transparent and manageable business?

— Of course you can. Moreover, it is necessary. For this aim current market offers to producers automated programs designed to makethe work on farms as simple and efficient as possible. They can accumulate a huge number of different indicators, analyze them, generate easy and understandable reports on which the farmer decides the need of certain changes. There are a lot of such automated programs. However, I would emphasize that they should be distinguished: there are accounting programs and there are management programs. For example, our company emphasizes the combination (in other words, full integration) of automated programs with equipment that works on the farm, and is intended for milking, feeding, sorting, weighing and determination of sexual heat. And when it comes about management, we mean to act now, the same moment, and, preferably, in advance, to avoid serious problems that cause noticeable damage. This is our special platform.
