The event was organized by the Association of Milk Producers of Ukraine (AMP), Ukrainian Agrarian Council (UAC) and Dykun company. The Congress was supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, FAO and the EBRD. During the event the specialized exhibition on dairy farming was held which was attended by around 100 companies-market leaders.
For the ninth consecutive year, the Congress takes the role of the platform, where the exchange of information and visions take place; new ideas of the domestic dairy sector development are generated etc.
This year the Congress is marked by several features: firstly, it was held under the name Eastern, indicating its broader meaning; secondly, it was aimed at expanding markets for Ukrainian milk and improving its quality.
The Congress covered a number of important dairy industry issues which traditionally were presented in several sections during two days — «Analytics of Dairy Business», «Management and Technologies», «Veterinary», «Challenges, Strategies and Innovations in the Dairy Business in 2016», «East European Dairy Initiative», «Alternative Perspective: dairy goats and sheep breeding», that allowed participants to choose and listen to the most interesting presentations.
The main aim of the Congress was the discussion and adoption of strategies for the action on the most important issues of the industry — taxation, government support of livestock, dairy cooperatives and others.
